[/BLOCKQUOTE]
- Hand to Hand Combat - Though not a slayer, his older brother does treat him like one; to an extent that is. He makes sure that Holden can hold his own and defend himself when needed.
- Armed Combat - Bow & Arrow? Knife? Stake? You name it, Liam's made sure Holden's wielded it once. Though he doesn't use them often doesn't mean he won't hesitate to if the situation calls for it.
- Intelligent - While he isn't the smartest human being in the entire universe and will never be a prodigy of his time, he does however keep his grades above average
for fun. Though he excels in math and science.- Athletic - He's not on any sports teams at school but he has been training alongside his brother for quite a while now and it has become routine for him. Training is his form of keeping in shape when running or heading to the gym for a traditional workout won't cut it.
- Photographic Memory - One look and he's got it covered. What you wore last week, numbers and letters on a license plate, a paragraph from last night's reading assignment. All up there.
WEAKNESSES
[/BLOCKQUOTE]
- Insecure - He wasn't the most popular guy back and being the new kid at a new school isn't the easiest thing either. He lacks confidence and is insecure about his looks. You tell him he's ugly, he will believe you. He was the kid everyone picked on.
- Withdrawn - Holden isn't one to talk about his feelings or problems unless he's held down and forced to talk. Figuratively speaking of course. He just doesn't feel the need to burden people with his problems and just finds a way to deal with them on his own.
- Confused - If you were to ask Holden what side of the fence he stood on when it came to his sexuality, he would answer duck. He lacks social interaction with the opposite sex. Nonexistent is the better word. He's never been with a girl or had interaction with one. Though he is oddly attracted to guys and is curious about being with one. He's just not sure if it's due to lack of female interaction.
- Self-Reliant - He's known for being independent and doing on his own. It's not that he's not a team player, he can work with others. He just doesn't want to be viewed as weak and not being able to handle his own.
- Caring - Depending on the person and relationship, sometimes his feelings may get in the way if he gets too attached. He's not heartless...even if he pretends to be. It's all a facade. He may act like he doesn't care for friends or others but in all actuality he does. He also blames himself for his mother's death. He has no memories of her, just pictures and stories.
LIKES
[/BLOCKQUOTE]
- Movies - Some make him laugh, cry, or scare the crap out of him. It's what he does in his spare time when he's not training or burring his nose in a book.
- Food - A guilty pleasure of his, just as long as it's not sushi, he'll eat it. More like swallow it but you get the picture.
- Comic Books - Picked them up as a child and never put them down, though he is still the kid wanting to be a superhero when he grows up.
- Sitting around a fire - It's just something about sitting in front of a warm, crackling fire that entrances him.
- Night - He's a night owl, he's just one of those guys that prefer night over day. Even if that means there are over sized walking bloodsucking mosquitoes lurking in the shadows.
- Social Interaction - Though he's never had the chance to actually get close with anyone or make friends, he likes the thought of having friends, being invited to parties, and having a social life. Though at this moment it all seems like a pipe dream.
- The little things - While living under the watchful eye of a watcher trying to live a normal life is hard to do. So, he enjoys the little things in life like family dinners (which consist of him and Liam), playing football in the park, watching a movie together. That kind of stuff.
DISLIKES
[/BLOCKQUOTE]
- Smokers - He hates the smell and doesn't find it attractive at all.
- Bad Hygiene - He's not the cleanliest person walking around but if you smell or have bad breath, it's pretty obvious you need to take care of that.
- Bullies - Being a victim of bullying on countless occasions I can ensure you that he doesn't enjoy it.
- Homophobes - For him it kind of goes hand in hand with bullies and any kind of hate. It's not wanted.
- Being Overprotected - He doesn't like being suffocated. He doesn't like to be coddled and treated like someone's precious china.
- The Supernatural - Since it's come into his life, he has no life.
HISTORY
[/BLOCKQUOTE]
If you're looking for a happy story then you're in the wrong spot, no, it's not that horrible. Some good comes of this not so great beginning of this horrible thing we call life and this is how mine starts. My mom was only in high school when she was pregnant with me, my dad, however, didn't claim me at all and didn't want anything to do with me. Just glad he chose to run before I had developed the image of a father. He upped and left as soon as his mother uttered those two words. I'm pregnant, but I think I did fine without him. My mom was a potential slayer. yes, was, as in she's…It's always tragic when a potential slayer dies before their calling and though and no, I'm not talking about me, as awesome as that sounds…minus the death part.
My mother's watcher didn't see fit that she try and raise a child while taking on the role of Vampire Slayer. She agreed and planned on giving me up to a family that would love and care for me. While I did find a family that loved and cared for me like I was their own as she intended, the outcome of it all wasn't what anyone expected. The family she had chosen to give me to were drained of blood. Yes, vampires attacked my first adoptive family. Yeah, wasn't even born yet and already had bad luck. She'd gone into labor before she could find anyone else and wasn't going to give me up to just anyone, and as my cries echoed throughout the room so did the beeping of the cardiograph.
Her watcher adopted me. They raised me and are my family. I have two loving parents and an older brother. They've been there for as long as I can remember, seeing as though I have no memory of my birth mother, just pictures. She was really beautiful too. After my birth mother died, dad stopped watching. Can you blame him? Didn't mean I missed out of killer stories though. This just made Liam want to follow in his footsteps and be a better watcher than Dad was. Though Dad doesn't like this and prays that he doesn't have a "bad" influence on me. But that's exactly what were doing here. Don't worry I'm getting to that. I mean it's not like it's not an autobiography or anything…
School, the trials and tribulations of every kid in the world. I hated it, not school itself, just disliked the people in it. I got picked on and bullied by everyone. I literally jumped from school district to school district back home from getting into trouble at school. It wasn't until mom decided that homeschooling would be better for me but at that point it was too late. I just wanted to leave home, leave that town and start fresh. So, I left. Okay, maybe I didn't leave, I begged my older brother to let me live with him. Even though the rents weren't happy about it, they obliged, I mean they just ought to. I was practically black and blue once a week. Sometimes I question why I haven't lost it yet.
I moved in with Liam at the age of 14 and before doing so, if you were to ask me if vampires and anything else supernatural existed. I would tell you to stay off the drugs. I just thought the stories dad told were fictions crap to shut me up and close my eyes. Boy, was I wrong. I've been living with Liam for two years now and before moving in with him I thought he was going to med school or something. Not going to school to become Dad Jr. I'm proud of him, scared out of mind for what's to come but I'm proud of him. He's also been training me, yeah, I could kick your ass. Don't tempt me.
But to end this long story and just catch you up with my life, we just recently moved to Midnight Harbor. Sounds like something out of fantasy book but it's definitely on the town welcome sign. Liam has a new slayer to "watch" or babysit. Whichever you see fit. Meanwhile, I'm trying to live a normal life and pretend that nothing supernatural exists. There. Done. Happy now?

Being the new kid had to be the worst thing in the world. Holden felt like there was a sign above his head or an arrow pointed at him that said newbie he thought to himself as he was pushed into a locker. So far his day had been shit. He's pretty sure his first period teacher hates him for being late on the first day when he was registering for class, something he clearly had no power over. Though he's now expected to catch up yesterday's homework and today's. Jocks keep messing with him and now it looks like he stumbled upon the wrong one.
Bumping into someone, he would have said sorry, he wasn't raised in a barn. Someone bumping into him? What was he apologizing for! Holden tried walking away, it got him pressed up against a locker. He looked over the guy who bumped him, he was taller and larger than him. To put it simply this guy belonged in a zoo. "That all you got?" he furrowed a brow as the jock's buddies jeered at him. Why'd he open his mouth, he'll never know. The jock's fist collided with his stomach as he doubled over and clutched his stomach. He groaned as he stood up straight.
"C'mon, I know two year olds who hit harder than that." he hissed before another fist hit his stomach this one knocking him down to the floor clutching his side. He groaned again as he rolled in pain. "Okay, okay, you can apologize for being the big oaf who bumped into me. I forgive you." he spat out as he was on all fours before being kicked in the side. He could've taken this guy but his brother told him to "be good". Did being good mean he had to take this ass kicking, though? He lied there on the floor breathing heavily before getting kicked in the side again. There was only but so much he could take.
