Opening the screechy gate of the cemetery, he begun to walk inside, curiously looking around at the dim sky, and the graves which he was now seeing surround him. There were many of them; this cemetery wasn't as big as the ones back in Miami it seemed, however he could still see himself getting rather lost in here quickly. Why was he even here? To most, walking through a cemetery full of graves at night was either weird, dull or exciting. It was neither of those for him however; it just felt strangely natural. Not because he was some kind of freak who digs up graves or anything...Well he did that once, but there was good reason for that! It was mainly his sister's idea anyway, nothing to do with him whatsoever. He was just along for the ride, like most times.
Walking deeper in, he begun to look around more closely, holding the stake in his right hand, ready to nail a vampire in the heart who tries to get some sort of suspenceful edge over him. That wasn't going to happen if he had anything to do about it. He had reflexes like spiderman and eyes like a hawk. Well...Not really, but he liked to think so, it made walking through a cemetery filled with hell knows what and one which he wasn't familiar with, that bit more reassuring. For all he knew, this could be a cemetery full of demons with super powers and fire breathing dragons. Well, the odds of that happening were as dim as the light in the cemetery, but there was nothing wrong with overexaggerating things. Especially when it came to the defining moment when he realized there were only vampires existing in this cemetery. And that would be where the fun begins.
He continued walking, pausing as he heard some weird noises nearby; weird, even for him. He looked over curiously, noticing a vampire clawing its' way out of a grave. He smiled softly, leaning against another headstone, flicking the stake against his chest as he waited, appearing bored by his expression. When in fact, he was restless and was ready to fight. It was weird, he had given up on the slaying thing, but after doing it again, it just felt natural and oddly...Right. He didn't know how to explain it, and didn't even know if he could explain it. He got off of the grave as the vampire finally dug its way out of the grave. Action time. "You know, I've seen idiots dig their way out of bigger holes than you. And you have super strength, don't you?" He sighed softly, moving foward as the vampire looked on at him, confused and nervous at the same time. "Who are you?" He chuckled softly. "Doesn't matter, you're not going to be alive to tell anyone. Sorry, I mean you're not going to be...Undead much longer? I dunno, I haven't done this whole expedition through the cemetery lately, you're going to have to catch me up to speed."
The vampire lunged foward, and he blocked a fist with his elbow, punching the vampire in the face before nailing a roundhouse kick to the vampire's gut, sending him to the floor. "I get it, you just crawled all the way out of your own grave, I'll go easy on you, I promise... He smirked, the vampire kicking him in the gut, and tripping him to the ground. He blocked a strike to his neck, kicking the vampire away from him. He got back to his feet, striking the vampire in the jaw with a fist, before turning and sending the stake straight through the vampire's heart. Style points for tonight? None, so hopefully the next one would be better.

flightless birdnow i’m a fat house cat. nursing my sore, blunt tongue. watching the warm poison rats crawl through the wide fence cracks. pissing on magazine photos. those fishing lures thrown in the cold and clean blood of christ mountain stream. Cemeteries had always been something that Gabriel just didn't quite understand. How was burying your dead honoring them in any way? Their bodies were forced into wooden boxes, sometimes horribly decorated and then buried under six feet of dirt, rock and grime and left to rot away forever. It wasn't ideal by any means, at least that was what he thought. He much preferred the older methods of the funeral pyre. For one thing it would ensure that if the body was going through a transition it would not return to the land of the living as a vampire, like himself. Instead humanity had 'evolved' as they liked to call it and started to bury their dead where the creatures of darkness could easily rise again to pillage and plunder and do all sorts of naughty things to the world. Such were the thoughts that had ran through his mind as he stared at the oldest headstone inside the Midnight Harbour cemetery. The words were barely discernible through age, mostly faded and it was clear that no family came to visit.
Why he was out here was the question on Gabriel's mind but the answer seemed to linger for a while. Truth be told he was hunting but not for human victims. On a night like this, when it was so clear, calm and oh so very pretty the humans seemed to flock out on the streets and some chose to try to make this their hang out. He was in a way merely trying to prevent the death toll from rising any higher than it already was. For some it was an ambitious thought but for a vampire that couldn't do anything more than kill his own kind it was penance. At least that had been the plan that had formed through the mans mind as he started to listen to the sounds that were surrounding him. It should be quiet in the cemetery, dead quiet, no pun intended. Instead he could hear the sounds of people moving around, of strange things that shouldn't be happening. All of that, however, was drowned out by the sound of the gate screeching open.
Moving from his spot Gabriel stalked his way towards the noises and the strange smell that seemed to permeate the air. It wasn't human but it wasn't quite demonic either. It seemed to be a mix in between and it was more than enough to pique his curiosity. Watching with dark eyes, the vampire saw one of his kin trying to attack his victim. From here it looked very much like the vampire would win hands down because humans, despite how hard they tried, rarely put up enough of a fight to ward off an attack from a creature such as himself. Now was not the time for him to react, instead he was just going to watch. For all that his fighting of his own kind was worth Gabriel refused to waste the good that he had done by revealing what he was, at least for now. With almost perfectly quiet movements he moved closer to the sounds of fighting. From his vantage point he could see a young man of probably sixteen and he was doing a decent job of fighting off the vampires.
Moving to a spot where he was visible the vampire couldn't fight back the urge to clap. Of course it was that mocking type of clap that one might see from people on the golf course. To be completely honest, Gabe was more impressed that the kid had managed to survive the scuffle in one piece than anything else. As he drew just a bit closer that same ethereal smell that had intrigued him just a bit ago. "I'll give you a 10 for effort but a 4 for style." His voice was calm but deadly as he tried to figure out inside of his mind what this young man was. It would be too obvious to stand there and ask the question that was burning in his mind. Of course he wanted to know how the young man had even survived or why he was out here but that wasn't going to be answered. Instead he just let his eyes try to take in the frame of the boy that had killed the vampire just moments ago. Gabriel was more than ware of the danger of even being visible right now. words enough, tag ayden, outfit, blah |

So it seemed that his night had just became interesting. He turned, startled softly as he heard someone clapping from behind him. He then saw a man standing there; rather intimidating looking due to build of the man. He then gave him an 'evaluation' of his fight with the vampire. He smirked softly. This man was either some watcher, who wouldn't have known what he was, but decided to give his two cents anyway. Or a vampire, which he was more than leaning towards. He stared on, watching the vampire curiously. He wasn't sure why the vampire was here talking with him, that couldn't be a very good sign. Most vampires would just either attack from behind or appear out of nowhere, instantly asking for their ass to be kicked. But this dude was different- there was something about him that screamed vampire, but he just seemed strangely different somehow. Maybe because he wasn't used to having a conversation with them; if this could even be called a conversation.
He wasn't liking the whole idea of having a conversation with this vampire anyway, he would prefer just to have a fight and kill this bastard already. Was he trying to play mind games, or something? It all didn't make much sense, and he couldn't deny this man was sparking his curiosity, in some strange way. Since when would he be curious about vampires, ever? He chuckled softly at the man's comment, walking foward slowly to where the vampire was at. "Oh, that low? Shit. Can I perhaps get a higher score, maybe kicking your ass would give some more style points? And at least it would keep you quiet?" He looked on, ready to strike at any moment. He wasn't going to fall into the trap of letting his guard down around this vampire by talking to him. So if he thougt that was going to work, he was in for a suprise.
He continued moving foward slowly, getting ground on this vampire. He was ready to fight, regardless of how strong this vampire may have been. He knew he was different to the grunt vampires, because they just attacked and became dust, it was a never ending cycle. But for this guy to critique his work, he was something else altogether. He flicked his stake around in his right hand, still eying the vampire firmly. "So, are we just going to stand here and exchange insults, or can we fight already? Cause you know, that guy lying in that pile of dust over there didn't really provide me with any challenge, and...I'm not really liking the whole idea of going home so early without having one, yeah?" He kept the same expression despite his arrogance on the whole situation.

flightless birdnow i’m a fat house cat. nursing my sore, blunt tongue. watching the warm poison rats crawl through the wide fence cracks. pissing on magazine photos. those fishing lures thrown in the cold and clean blood of christ mountain stream. Moving from the shadows and into the view of the young man who had been fighting the vampires, was probably not the smartest thing to do but it was too late to change it not. Gabriel was an ass from time to time and this was a chance for him to show that exact nature. He honestly didn't care if the boy lived or not all he had done was make some smart comment hoping to rile him up. Anyone that chose to fight the forces of darkness had to be able to keep their head cool in a situation. Letting rage and emotions get the best of you is easiest way to get dead faster. It was amusing to Gabe just how many humans thought they could take on those of his kind and live. "Not sure that you can earn more for style points, child. Of course falling to the ground, while amusing, is enough to make sure you can't redeem those points." His voice was dripping with sarcasm and other annoying little traits that seemed to come to the forefront when he was annoyed.
Cocky and confident was the smirk that graced Gabriel's features as he stood there, perfectly still and waiting. "Go ahead child if you think it will make you the bigger man. I will say this only once. Only attack things that you are sure you can beat." If a fight did break out, Gabe knew that he wouldn't kill the boy. Injure possibly, break something more than likely but kill, nope. Death was not on the menu today, or ever really. He couldn't kill humans but that didn't stop him from hurting them if they got too close. Gabriel was not going to make the first move here, no he was going to let the young man do so. Maybe fighting with him would help work out some of the anger and aggression that he was feeling. Shaking his head, the vampire wondered why all of a sudden he felt the need to be a mentor. They didn't need him. They all needed to leave him alone and stay out of his way if they planned on living. It wasn't hard to know that he wasn't a typical vampire.
[b"I'm quite content with just standing here and exchanging witty yet verbally abusive retorts. Don't tell me that's not fun for you too." |
Letting that jerk attitude color his features, Gabe leaned against a tree just to his left and waited. One thing about battle was seeing who would make the first move. A skilled fighter would take the time to study their opponents movements, to wait until they saw the perfect opening to strike first. Amateurs, they just lashed out with everything they had and hoped they landed a blow. Now was the time to see if this child was an amateur or if he was truly skilled. He had to give the young man props for at least being savvy enough to take down the vampire but then again Gabe had seen many things in his years. Everything was going to come down to the next few seconds, from there the fight would either work or it wouldn't. One way or another someone was going to be taught a lesson.[/div] words enough, tag ayden, outfit, blah

He looked on, smirking softly as the vampire spoke. Wow, and here he was, almost forgetting how arrogant vampires really were. Almost. He placed the stake-less hand in his pocket, the smirk still on his face as he spoke. "There won't be any falling on the floor happening tonight, unless you count dust, that is." He looked on at the vampire, stake twitching in his hand, ready to be put to use. "And I get that you vampires have that years of aging crap, but don't go around calling me child. I'm not a child." He eyed the man. That was definantly something he didn't appreciate being referred to as. Maybe because he disliked the idea of authority and the notion of 'adult' 'child'. This vampire definantly knew how to get under his skin, he would have to be careful when engaging with this guy.
"Theres no guarentees in anything, but I don't see myself dying tonight. You however? High possibility. You don't even look that tough." He shrugged, looking around the cemetery with a bored expression placed on his face. He had two choices; fight this vampire, or let this vampire go off freely and kill someone. Yeah, that definantly wasn't going to be happening. Whether something did happen to him, which in his mind was impossible tonight, at least he would die knowing that he stood up to this vampire and didn't just give him a 'get out of slayed free card.' That wasn't who he was.
He continued to smirk at the vampire's snide comment. "Oh, exchanging insults with a vampire has been the highlight of my life. This exchange has lasted longer than your little buddy over there, anyway. This vampire could stand there and act all mysterious and attempt to be tough, but although Ayden knew nothing about this man, this vampire didn't know anything about himself either. He would underestimate Ayden, and that would ultimately become his downfall. He looked on at the vampire, the smirk of competition appearing back on his face. This vampire was waiting for him to make the first move, that was obvious. What would his first move be, anyway? He decided to think quickly, as he moved closer towards the vampire. He twitched with his stake again, before throwing it towards the vampire's heart, and lunged foward quickly behind the stake, aiming a kick towards the vampire's gut. Hopefully that would've caught him off guard at least.

Amusing was the only word that Gabriel could use to describe the current situation he found himself in. Here he was in front of a human that seemed to think he could handle vampires and yet he didn't seem to care that they could rip him apart. Instead Gabe was now the object of said attention. Fighting was the last thing that he wanted to do, at least right now but that didn't mean he was going to get his wish. Watching the stake come flying at him, it was easily enough dodged, something that any vampire that had half a brain could do. Weapon out of the hands of a person that thought they could use it, Gabe relaxed for a moment. Then the blow landed at his gut, it wasn't enough to knock him down but it was enough to make him stagger for a moment. That alone was a shocking thing but Gabriel still kept the smirk on his face. Oh this was going to be so much fun. Whatever was up with this young man would reveal itself soon enough.
Now that the first move had been made Gabe was sure he could make his own. Calculating the situation the vampire tried to determine which of the moves in his arsenal would have the most effect. Kicks were easy enough and so were punches, of course when you didn't add in the vampire strength behind them. This situation needed something else, it needed fineness and a skill that showed he was a master at what he was doing. It was going to take time to understand the moves and know exactly where to exploit the weaknesses of the child. To him his opponent was a child, after all he had been alive for so many years everyone started to become children to you. He wanted to show that he wasn't someone to be taken for granted and yet at the same time he needed to get out of the fight without too much blood being drawn. Danger always seemed to be attracted to him.

He was relieved when his shot against this vampire was successful in its target. He wasn't giving this vampire too much credit or anything, but there was something about him which did spark him as strange, and he was going to try and be cautious when dealing with this vampire. He wasn't scared though, he was more than confident that he would be able to handle this vampire. This vampire hadn't shown him anything which he should be scared of, and even after attacking the vampire, he still didn't maintain any offence, which was slightly confusing at the same time. He eyed the man as he retained the smirk despite getting a suprising shot to the gut, which didn't affect him as much as he would have liked it to. He glanced past Dante to where his stake now was, edged into a tree. Hmm. He would need to get to that soon; after all, he couldn't slay a vampire with dirt. Hey, there was a first for anything.
He focused his attention back on the vampire before him. "Not fighting back? I don't have a stake on me anymore, so I'm basically vulrunable for the taking, right?" He chuckled softly. He was annoyed that this vampire wasn't fighting back yet. He wanted this vampire to fight back so he could get some kind of fight tonight, but it didn't seem to be going in his favor tonight. If this vampire wasn't going to be attacking, then what did he want? Some kind of conversation, or something? He would be stupid if he expected to be recieving that kind of treatment.
"Gotta say, you're the most boring vampire I've ever come across. All I've seen from you is witty remarks, and even they sounded like they could've come from a twelve year old. You really are disappointing me. I thought you vampires were all full of the insults and ass kickings. Guess I have you too much credit, huh?" He smirked softly, before sending an arm foward, going to punch the jaw of the vampire. Maybe if he continued laying the attacks on him, he would finally fight back.

flightless birdnow i’m a fat house cat. nursing my sore, blunt tongue. watching the warm poison rats crawl through the wide fence cracks. pissing on magazine photos. those fishing lures thrown in the cold and clean blood of christ mountain stream. He stared on at this boy, a half smirk appearing on his expression, taking keen notice of this boy's mannerisms and the way he held himself. There was definantly something different about this boy, he just wasn't able to ascertain what was different about him actually. It would create some interest, finding out, he was sure. What made this boy so different than all of the others in the past who have all suffered a quick and painful death as a result of the evils lurking in this world? He wasn't a vampire or demon, he would've smelled that instantly. He was probably a hunter, that made sense, but he was just too strong for that, it seemed. He caught Gabriel off guard, and with a brute force which he hadn't experienced in anyone except a slayer, which made things undoubtedly confusing for the old vampire. That was just not possible, there were no sightings of such a thing, ever. There was something to this boy, but until he figured out what it was exactly, he would continue playing games with this boy, whether that be through a debate or through fighting it out. He would make sure not to severely hurt this boy to the point of him breaking, but just to warn him of who he really is dealing with. There were enemies out there who this boy should be worried about, or shying away from. He didn't need to make an enemy with him.
Upon hearing the words dry out of the mouth of the boy, he looked around at the surroundings, before finally turning his attentions firmly back to the boy before him. He really was an ignorant childe, and he was going to die an early death if he continued down this path. Gabriel honestly didn't care either way what happened to this boy, but maybe there was something he could do to stop him from at least suffering a painful death by the hands of some of the evil in this town. Just because he had this curse, didn't mean that he had to do charity causes. A boy like this was clearly not willing to be saved, and seemed too keen on suffering his end quicker than he would if he stopped rambling on with his cocky mask, which Gabriel was able to see straight through. He knew people like this, and they weren't worth his time or patience. And he was a patient man, but this boy was testing his patience right as they speak. "Stake, or no stake, you would still be vulrunable prey for me childe, if I wanted to take you right now." And that was the truth. It didn't matter who this young boy was, Gabriel could easily take him right now, and the boy would be no more. But he couldn't do that, he knew how guilty he would feel after, even though at first it might be a breath of fresh air to silence this ignorant boy.
He rubbed his cheek bone slowly as the boy continued on, Gabriel wished that he would be able to shut out the boy's words from echoing in his head, because they were so full of overconfidence, where confidence could not be placed in such a situation. This boy really had no clue who he was messing with. "There are also many things I could wish to say about yourself, childe, but I have no desire to continue lecturing you, when you are clearly ignorant to everything around you." The ignorant childe soon attempted to throw a punch towards his jaw, and he let it hit him, feeling the force as he closed his eyes, leaving them closed for a brief moment as he contemplated how he was going to break this childe if he continued stirring his patience. He reopened his eyes, staring fiercely at the boy before him. "You clearly enjoy bringing danger upon yourself, that is obvious. But I must warn you, only tempt danger when you know you are able to withstand it," he added, before lunging foward and landing a punch on the man's abdonem. He stared at the man now, before pulling his head back by gripping onto his hair. He leant in close to the man's ear, whispering. "I'll be seeing you around childe, try not to get yourself killed." He dropped the boy to the ground and then he took off into the night. He would keep a close eye on this boy, just to find out more about him and who he is. words enough, tag ayden, outfit, blah |
