Walking down the street, he eyed the area curiously, looking out for any signs of trouble. It was almost as if he was some kind of super hero or something, scaling the city, or in this case town, for any trouble or damsels in need of assistance. But it wasn't like that, but he did feel the obligation to be out there at night and make the town that bit less scary from vampires and whoever knows what else. Maybe that was what a super hero was, but it wasn't for him. He didn't go out there to save people to make them all happy and smiley or whatever, he did it because he had the power to do it. It was something he could never grasp, which he was slowly beginning to. The idea that although he had these powers, that didn't force the right upon him to use them, especially in the way they were destined to be used. But in light of this, and everything his sister had come to believe in, he had realized that it was just as much a part of him as it was his sister, and he should continue on her legacy by doing what she did; what they did together.
He turned into a back alley, knowing that was the only way he was going to get any attention from the supernatural around this town. He had to play all alone and lost, they were suckers for preying on people like that. He could've just preyed out himself in the cemetery, but cemeteries did get boring after a while, and he was actually hoping to run into a different type of vampire. The ones who attacked them at Till Midnight comes on Halloween and escaped, leaving three dangerous vampires lurking out in the shadows, ready to strike whenever they please.

Caleb peered out at Ayden. That was his name….Ayden. He had known that only because it was the name that he had heard when his plan basically went to shit at Till Midnight Comes. And he really couldn’t blame it all on this hunter/slayer/whatever he was. Caleb still wasn’t sure what this Ayden character was. Dante believed that he was a male slayer, which was possible but not likely. Lucretia believed him to be more of a rogue hunter. That was also possible but again not likely around these parts. All Caleb knew was that he was one of the reasons why his plans were shot. Caleb’s plans were very simple. Recruit a bunch of vampires on the best night of the year, Halloween. Get them to take over Till Midnight Comes. Have an epic feeding frenzy and possible orgy….okay maybe not the orgy being that they’d all be dead, but he would have definitely had some sort of fun with them. But people had to stick their noses where they didn’t belong, this Ayden guy being one of them. Who goes around killing a bunch of vampires and expects there not to be consequences! Not only did this kid screw up his plans but he also embarrassed Caleb to no end involving his sire and his sire’s sire all of which couldn’t be left unnoticed. No, this kid was now on Caleb’s radar. It seemed that Caleb and his gang were going to be in this town a bit longer than expected which Caleb was going to take full advantage of, starting with Ayden Wolfe. Caleb knew exactly what he was now. He was a new toy for Caleb to play with….starting now.
Caleb stepped out from behind the brick wall now a bit ahead of Ayden. ”Looking for me?” He asked, his hands digging into his black blazer pockets. ”You know….Ayden, that is your name right, I’m feeling a bit bored tonight. Care to inspire me?” He smirked staring out at the boy.

He turned swiftly as he heard the voice of a familiar man, one who he had indeed been searching for, but having high doubts that he would actually make an appearence. But he had, and in a way had caught Ayden by suprise. These vampires were all about doing things in their own time and terms, and maybe this vampire felt like this was on his terms. Was he following him, or what? His walk alone down a dark alley apparently paid off better than he had originally expected, which was always good. But now he was left alone with a powerful and sadistic vampire in an abandoned and dark alley, where this man was at his strengths. Maybe Ayden hadn't thought this through as well as he should've, but he was never one to think things through too much. It was just who he was, a flaw in his personality which was no good for being a slayer. Though he believed this was a flaw many slayers had, not thinking rationally and just diving into situations. it couldn't just be him, right?
"Not looking, just playing the vulrunable card on you, and apparently it worked too. You're either incredibly stupid, or are actually confident that by showing yourself it was a good idea. Which also makes you incredibly stupid there, too." He eyed the man with a fierce stare, not removing his gaze from him at all, not knowing what to expect. As much as he possibly could, he wanted to keep his guard up against this man. He knew, just from fighting him last time, how reckless and powerful this vampire was. After all, if he wasn't any good, he would have been a pile of dust already, and not here having small talk with Ayden right now. Ayden was angry that these vampires got away, but at least he had a date with one of them tonight. If he could eliminate this one, that leaves only two menacing vampires in this town. Every good thing seemed to come in threes, but in this town, it was apparently in reverse.
And this vampire knew his name, that was interesting yet freightening at the same time. What else did he know? "You've done your homework, you're smarter than I originally gave you credit for. But how much homework have you really done on me? I mean, you were too busy getting your ass kicked last time, not much you can really learn there, huh?" Maybe he was exaggerating a bit about the ass kicking part, as they were pretty even, hell Ayden was probably lucky to have escaped with his own life. But he wouldn't show any weakness to this man, a vampire of all people. If he was going to show vampire it would definantly not be to an evil blood sucker who could just as easily use it against him. He placed his hands in his pockets, and glanced down at the ground softly as the man spoke, before finally looking up at him with the intense stare back on his expression. "What did you have in mind? Movie? Dinner? Ah, movies are closed, resturants are too. Hmm. We could go for a walk in the park, maybe go to the gym? I dunno. Oh, unless you meant getting a stake shoved through your heart, I heard that can be quite inspirational. We should try it, just to see if it is." He smirked softly as he continued looking on at the vampire before him, stake his the back of his shirt, ready to withdraw it at any moment and finally stake this vampire.

Man was this kid a treat or what? Caleb was almost sad to have to watch him finally break at some point. Caleb wasn’t going to just kill Ayden. No, he was too interesting for that. Caleb chose his victims very carefully. There were some he just killed for the sack of killing because it was fun, and he was bored. But there were quite a few that he found compelling enough to keep around and play with a bit. Torment them in settle ways until they couldn’t take it anymore. Pull their minds in one direction and then jerk them back to reality. And after that got boring, he’d torture them. Take them away to a hidden place where he would break them down to nothing just for the sheer fun of watching them beg. And then when they thought that there may be hope left for them after all, he would feed off of them, draining them dry. And there was no point in turning any of them really because he had already had his fun with them. Even as interesting as this kid was, it would never last. He would eventually break him down enough to where the sarcastic comments that had been so entertaining to Caleb would be no more than pleading words. But tonight, tonight was more about just showing this kid he had really messed with the wrong group of vampires. There would be no killing….just a little fun.
”See, that’s the mistake most people make, and I don’t get it. Do I have a sign that says ‘I’m stupid ask me how’ plastered to my back or something? I see nothing wrong with being confident. Confidence doesn’t make you stupid. It makes you willing. Willing to do whatever it takes to get what you want because you know you will succeed.” Caleb grinned. ”I don’t know much about you, Ayden, but I don’t have to do homework to know we have that in common.” Caleb didn’t approach Ayden, but he circled him instead like a shark waiting for the right moment to strike. ”You see, you took on a rather large amount of vampires the other night, vampires that were instructed by me by the way, but you did this knowing that you probably wouldn’t have any help at all in doing so. Now, you must be incredibly stupid, or far too confident for your own good.” Caleb stopped and lifted his hands moving them up and down almost like a balance. He nodded. ”Looks like a fairly similar situation if you ask me, wouldn’t you agree?” They were very similar in a sense. Caleb could see it. Maybe that was why he seemed to be finding a growing interest in him. At this point, even if Dante had asked him to go out searching for the little turd that had blown the cover of his family, he probably wouldn’t bring him back to Dante just yet because he wanted to keep him all to himself like the greedy vampire he was.
Caleb laughed at yet another one of Ayden’s humorous comments. ”I imagine that would be very inspirational to a vampire. Even me I guess, if you can make a clear shot.” Caleb threw out his arms. ”I have no one blocking me this time, promise.” His arms dropped as he continued, ”It’s just you and me kid. Let’s play shall we?” Without wasting another minute, Caleb charged Ayden with his vampire speed throwing his arms out to connect with his chest hoping that the force would send him flying backwards.

He was interested in how this fight would go tonight. The one time he had a fight with a powerful vampire, he drowned, luckily was revived by someone who had been nearby. And when he fought with this man last, although the man had the other vampires protecting him, he was still a powerful vampire in his own right who could probably just as easily take Ayden out without a moments hesitation. It was scary, but he didn't really fear anything. But there was this feeling inside his body, that anything could really happen tonight. Either this vampire gets staked, or Ayden gets his neck snapped or something else barbaric which this vampire could do. But that was the joys of being who he was, the slayer. On a night-to-night basis he was the target of vampires, and he had come to deal with that, only because the majority of fights he had walked into and came out alive. The not so majority, being the fight he was drowned in.
He shrugged softly as this vampire spoke. "Theres a difference, though. Your confident because your a vampire and that instantly makes you believe you are untouchable or something. I'm confident, because I know I can touch you. Actually my fist touched your jaw quite a few times if I remember correctly." Maybe he was being overconfident and it would be his downfall, but that wouldn't be tonight. His overconfidence kept him focused and motivated, and in the case of vampires, it also took them off guard and played with their own emotions. Although most just think its his natural ego, which it probably stems from, he uses his overconfidence to keep his opponent off guard and not knowing what to expect from him. After all, it wasn't like this vampire knew what he was anyway. He probably just thought that he was some kind of renegade hunter or something.
"Is it being too confident that I knew that I could single handedly kick all of your asses and still walk out of the club unscatched? Maybe you vampires just aren't used of a challenge, its probably about time you got one, don't you think?" Though although he would provide this vampire with a challenge, he was anticipating that it would be this vampire's last challenge. Getting this vampire out of the way would definantly make things easier around here. "Except the part where you had others get in my way and save your ass. Shouldn't have expected anything different from vampires." He shrugged as the man spoke on, apparently promising that it would just be the two of them. And now he was supposed to take a promise from an evil, bloodsucking vampire seriously? He spoke on, but before Ayden could react the vampire had charged foward unexpectedly, catching him off guard with a blow to his chest, which staggered him backwards to the floor. He quickly got up, holding his chest for a moment, trying to shake the pain off. "So thats how we're going to do this?" He lunged foward, aiming a kick towards the vampire's abdonem, hoping to whip out the stake at any moment and stake this vampire.

He smiled as the boy staggered and fell. He was a bit surprised that the shove didn’t do more to him than that. And he was even more surprised that once the boy went down, he was immediately able to get right back up. But he was satisfied. At least it hurt which he could tell from Ayden’s instant attention to his chest. ”Wow, I’m impressed. If it were anyone else, that blow would have kept them down a bit longer.” If he had gotten up that easily, Caleb would definitely be having a good dance with him tonight. It was so much more engaging when the victim was determined and more of an opponent than an amateur.
Caleb grinned when Ayden asked him if this was the way they were going to do things. ”Well, I would have taken up that restaurant idea of yours, but I don’t think we favor the same kind of meals.” Just as he finished his sentence, the kick slammed right into Caleb square in the abdomen sending out a grunt of air making him double over onto the alley floor. Some kick. Some fucking kick. This kid was definitely not just a human. He was something else. He could tell by the force behind that kick. It was a lot stronger than the attack of any human he’d ever fought before.
Caleb quickly rolled away from Ayden just in case he had the crazy idea that he would attack Caleb while he was down. Once away from Ayden, he pushed himself up and faced him again. He began to move around him slowly more pacing than actually circling now. He nodded. ”Alright, so not a human. Any chance you’re willing to spill? I’m dying to know what I’m actually having the pleasure of playing with tonight. Oh wait no. Let me guess.” Caleb now had a new challenge. What the hell was this kid? His face changed, his fangs extending. The best way to find out was to taste him. Now, he just had to get close enough to actually sink his teeth into him. Of course he would stop drinking well before he was drained. Even if he could tell what Ayden was, he still wasn’t going to kill his new toy. At least not tonight. Caleb jumped at him a growl escaping his lips. He landed right in front of Ayden instinctively going in for the neck.

He smirked as the man spoke. It was kind of amusing being a male slayer, which to his knowledge probably hadn't happened before. And these vampires apparently didn't know anything about it, so it was fun to keep them guessing and in suspence about why he could kick their asses and take their punishment so easily. Of course, this vampire was more of an even match, but to even be able to match this vampire in physical capabilities would confuse the heck out of this vampire for sure. "Maybe you're just getting a little rusty, I guess vampire's don't age as well as they used to, huh?" He retained the amused smirk on his face as he eyed this vampire, ready to combat a strike from this vampire, as he seemed to be rather quick with his shots, so he would have to keep his mind focused and not steer too much off subject like he is usually known to.
He shrugged at the vampire's comment about meals. "Yeah, I'm more of a well cooked T-Bone and pleanty of ice cream and chocolate type of guy. I didn't take you for one of those." There he goes, going off subject again. Luckily the vampire didn't attempt a strike right then and there or he would've experienced some more pain in his chest area, not something he was so ready to experience again. And then the vampire begun guessing, and Ayden was amused again at the cluelessness of this vampire. "Spilling just kills the fun. Its amusing how you assume just because of how badly I kick your ass that I can't be human. A little judgemental, isn't it? I have a beating heart, a soul, neither of which you have. More of an insult than anything else, wouldn't you think?" Was he even human? Well, he was, but he had a demonic essence within him. What did that classify him as then? He knew he was a slayer, but it wasn't like that was its own species.
And as he begun talking, the vampire's face morphed and he lunged in, trying to bite Ayden. How easy did this vampire think he really was? He put his arms out, gripping the shoulder's of this vampire as he moved in suprisingly fast towards his neck, and blocked the vampire coming any closer with his own strength. "Guess you will have to find another way of finding out, buddy." He shoved him backwards, before aiming a punch towards the head of the vampire, feeling a strong need to punch this vampire's head in a few times. Anger management at its finest. Who needed punching bags these days when you have walking, talking ones?

He should have known that wasn’t going to work so easily. Hell this kid had killer reflexes, so there should have been no surprise that he immediately blocked him with his hands forcing his shoulders backwards. But Caleb too had quick reflexes, and now was the perfect time to use them. Just as the punch came at him, he snapped his own arm up rather quickly to block it. He stared down at Ayden slowly tightening his grip on the boy’s forearm. ”No, not judgmental at all. Just knowledgeable.” He smirked at Ayden as his grip continued to tighten. ”Humans are and will always be weak. Weaker than us that is. That’s not an insult at all. It’s a fact. I mean, do you really want to belong to that category of beings?”
Caleb growled again feeling the hunger in the pit of his stomach rise when he found himself leaning slightly into Ayden more. ”No, I’m pretty sure this way will do just fine.” Caleb said as he became satisfied with the amount of attention he was giving to Ayden’s poor arm. He lunged forward without any more hesitation sinking his teeth into the neck he had exposed from moving his arm away. As the blood rushed into his mouth, it wasn’t hard to come to the conclusion that Ayden Wolfe was definitely not human at all. He was something much more….a slayer. How could he forget that oh so sweet warm powerful blood that trickled down his throat? He couldn’t at all. He had only tasted it twice in his life as a vampire. Once with Dante and once on his own. Dante had been right. Here standing before him, in his arms was the power of a male slayer. Part of him wanted to keep drinking, but he had to stop himself. There was too much fun to still be had.
Caleb pulled away not taking too much of his blood. He breathed heavily as he could feel himself crawling inside from the high of the slayer blood. It was nice….real nice. He chuckled as he dropped his arms away from Ayden wiping the blood from his mouth with his the back of his hand. ”Definitely not human. Not at all. And you may have a beating heart, but I’m not so sure about the soul part. You might want to check into that.” He smirked. ”Slayers are just as capable the horrors of this world as we are….if not more.” Caleb slowly stepped away from him. He had had his fun for the night. His challenge was complete, well at least one of them anyways. Now that he knew what Ayden was, he could have more fun with him than he first thought. ”There. Now we are even….for now.”

The vampire blocked his punch and gripped his forearm tightly. Ayden tried struggling as the vampire spoke, however this vampire at this moment was stronger and had the leverage advantage over him. He could see what this vampire was attempting to do, and although he struggled, it was meaningless and he could feel the vampire's grip becoming firmer and firmer, to the point that he knew he wasn't going to be able to fight back without doing something pretty darn drastic. But before he was able to think on his feet, the vampire lunged in without hesitation and sunk his fangs into Ayden's neck. He had never been bitten before, gasping softly, gripping the vampire's arm tightly as he tried using his strength to get away from the vampire's grasp over him. But it was worthless, and he could feel the painful sensations in his neck having more and more control over him. It was weird, but he could almost feel the blood being drained out of him ironically enough, and his body was becoming weaker and weaker. Blood test? This was much much worse. Though, for some strange reason, it did feel good, not having any control just being powerless and almost being a third wheel in this whole process.
The vampire soon withdrew his fangs from Ayden and let go, leaving Ayden to drop to the ground on his knees, holding his neck trightly in pain as he begun panting aggressively, listening to the words of the vampire which were slightly distant due to him feeling weaker than usual. He was also left with the burning question of why this vampire hadn't finished him right then and there, it would've been so easy for him to do so and then there wouldn't be a male slayer around causing trouble. But he had kept him alive, for some strange reason. He could never understand the motives of vampires. And the bite had apparently confirmed to this man that he was a slayer, taking away his element of suprise now of what he is and using that to his own advantage. He looked up at the vampire as he spoke of being even. He bit his lip softly, still holding his neck with one of his hands. "We aren't done here..." He spoke softly, eyeing the vampire as he got back to his feet. He did feel weaker, but he wasn't just going to let this vampire get away from him without a fight, or at least the opportunity for Ayden to finish him once and for all. He pulled the stake out of the back of his shirt, aiming a kick towards the vampire, and lunging the stake foward with the hand that was holding his neck tightly. They would only be even when he staked this vampire in the heart.

Caleb watched as Ayden stood up slowly. He didn’t look so hot, and Caleb wondered if that was actually the first time he had been bitten before. ”And he keeps on kickin’ “ Caleb smirked when Ayden told him that they weren’t done. That was the crazy thing about people who were confident. They never lost that confidence even when they had clearly lost the battle. He only knew this because he did it himself all the time.
The kick Ayden sent smashed into Caleb’s side. With a grunt he was jolted back slightly. The kick definitely didn’t have as much force behind it as his attacks back at Till Midnight Comes or previously in this encounter. That bite did him in pretty good. But he still didn’t get it. Caleb was able to see the stake lunging towards him. Caleb caught it with his left hand and back handed Ayden with his right knocking him down and out completely. The stake that had been left in his hand, he let drop next to the slayer on the ground. ”I think we are done here.” Caleb said more to himself obviously than anyone else. Most slayers would jump at the chance to be Caleb right now, standing in front of the body of an unconscious slayer. But the thrill of the torment he could do to this boy was far more intriguing than the simple kill he would do just for the hell of it to his meaningless victims.
Caleb turned on his heel and left Ayden. ”Now I’m hungry again.” He said leaving the alley.
