[rs=2] | S T R E N G T H S +Supernatural Abilities. As a vampire slayer, Ayden possesses enhanced strength, durability, stamina, senses, speed, reflexes and healing well above the average human. Because his sister had the prophetic dreams, he can only engage in this power if connected to another slayer's dream sequence, not his own. +Athletic. Due to being the captain of the Miami High Football Team, Ayden naturally is required to keep in the best physical shape possible to maintain the expected level of fitness. +Natural Charm. Ayden does have a way for words and knows how to charm people when he wants to. Although many see him as an 'arrogant jerk' he knows how to say the right things and can be genuine in what he says. +Confidence. What is there not to be confident about? Ayden is just another young man enjoying the perks of his status, and the way he comes over in front of people shows this side of him. Though a lot of the time, his confidence is a way of hiding his inner insecurities. +Leadership Qualities. As he was the captain of the football team, it is natural to assume that he has developed some leadership skills to go along with the posistion. His confidence does help this trait significantly, and he knows how to get people to follow him when needed. +Inner Strength. Ayden is the type of guy who isn't afraid of standing up for what he believes in, and fighting for what he believes in. In essence, he is a martyr, and would risk his own life to save another's. Although he seems like the type who hides behind his friends and acts a certain way, he does stand up for what he sees as right. +Over-Protective. With the ordeal he went through with the death of his sister, he begun truly developing this trait. When he feels he can trust someone and call them a friend, he sees them as someone he needs to look out for. Not because he is a slayer, or anything, but just because of the guilt he feels for losing people. +Pretty-Boy. He has the look of a young man who couldn't win a fight if his life depended on it, but this is far from the truth. Although he prefers to shy away from that area, he does have the natural instinct within him. Due to having the 'pretty-boy' look, he doesn't have much difficulty in finding relationships. +Mostly Fearless. Other than his fear for losing people and drowning, Ayden generally doesn't fear very much and isn't afraid of those situations when many would cringe in. +Fighting Capabilities. Unbeknowest that he would become a slayer, Ayden had undertaken kick boxing and mui-tai. He learned how to attack with his hands, and feet viciously, therefore having fine-tuned knowledge of how to take down opponents. This makes his fighting style rather unique to the general slayer. +Independent. Ayden knows what it takes to survive on his own, as he has been doing it for quite some time now. He isn't afraid of being alone, though he generally doesn't like it. He knows how to handle himself in most situations and has become a stronger person because of the experiences he has had being alone. +His Heart. Although under-utilized due to it being broken, his heart is one of his most lethal weapons. When he sets his heart on something, he will have the thirst and desire to reach the goal or target, showing more resiliency than ever. +Agile. Although he has the power to back him up, he prefers to avoid most fighting situations altogether. He uses his quick speed and quick thinking to manuover out of hazardous situations where he can avoid harm altogether. +Adventurous. He enjoys an adventure, and the 'thrill' that comes along with the adventure. He is always up for a challenge or something outside of his comfort zone, in most cases, that is. W E A K N E S S E S +Guilt. His guilt for losing his sister, the only true person he cared so deeply about, still burdens him even today, affecting his emotional well-being. He has the everlasting desire to not lose anyone, and hates that he couldn't save his sister, constantly imagining what life would've been like if she was still here with him. He plays the situation over and over in his head, each time with a new way he saves her from her impending death. +Anger Issues. With all that has happened, Ayden has a thick layer of anger that has built up over the years, and he has constantly surpressed it, believing he can handle it, when in actuality, he cannot. +Deception. When someone uses his emotions against him, Ayden can be quite easily decieved or manipulated. If he lets down his guard by trusting someone, he doesn't show much caution in terms of seeing another agenda in them. +Impatient. Ayden isn't usually one to enjoy waiting for a long period of time. If he is interested or keen in doing something, he prefers to take part in it right away rather than wait, what he deems as 'pointless time.' In many ways, he prefers to live every moment of life to the fullest, theres no point beating around the bush. +Reckless. Due to his adventurous personality, Ayden inadvertedly jumps into situations without analysing them and thinking in a practical sense. This is one of his major flaws which although at times may give him the spontangeous edge, usually leads him into more trouble than he can handle. +Overconfident. In his mind he has it all, and it does go to his head from time to time. He doesn't very many things as a 'threat' to him and believes he can handle any situation he is put in with ease. He usually overestimates a situation. +Trust. Trust isn't something that comes naturally to Ayden. You have to earn Ayden's trust, because he doesn't trust people easily. +Isolated. Although he has all the perks of popularity, he feels like he can't relate to everyone else all the time. Especially now that he has become even more different to his friends, this time physically. He doesn't know how to communicate his problems with those he can trust, and doesn't even know if he should, for his own sake. +Girls. Like most guys, Ayden is a sucker for the good-looking girl with the bubbly personality and the irresistable smile. He has great difficulty trying to resist 'going there' but a lot of the time there is very little he can do. He is a guy, after all. +Schoolwork. This is an area he doesn't excell in, merely because he does lack motivation and focus most of the time. He doesn't have the patience to read the literature or to take some time to actually do the homework. Thats what smart friends are for, right? L I K E S +Football. Something he is extremely good at, and enjoys spending most of his time doing. He loves the competition and the 'thrill' of the game, usually only when he is on the winning end of the stick, though. He grew up wanting to play the game, its in his blood. +Competition. Whether friendly or not so friendly competition, Ayden thrives off of it. He likes competing with others, mostly to prove that he can best them. There is almost an addicting thrill that comes from competition. +Girls. What guy doesn't? He likes watching them, their smile, their body, the sweet noise they make when he kisses them. Everything. This is a department he doesn't need much help in. +His Friends. They are everything to him. He enjoys hanging out with them more than anything else, except maybe football. They always make the day that much more enjoyable. He values friendship a lot. +Humor. Humor is one way to befriend Ayden, he is a sucker for a good ol' laughing session. He is all about having a good time, so of course he is going to enjoy laughing. +Music. He loves switching on the techno styled music and jamming to the beat. Music is motivation for him, and in many ways it also inspires him. He wouldn't be able to enjoy the day without music. +Working Out. Although he possesses that natural slayer strength, his body doesn't work itself out on its own. Even before becoming a slayer, he enjoyed working out to make sure he was in top condition for the game. +Action Movies. He loves them! The action is usually thrilling and exciting. It might have something to do with the action he gets in real life, he'll never know. +Keeping Busy. When he keeps busy, he doesn't have to dwell on the past and think about the guilt of losing his sister. Although not entirely successful, when he keeps busy, his mind does shut out the negative thoughts. +Partying. He enjoys hitting the night life with his friends and showing off to other people and have a good time. Because he has high social status, the parties are always raving and not the boring ones. D I S L I K E S +Life Lessons. One thing he hates more than anything is lectures about how he should be living his life or doing things, which are commonly given by teachers and parents. They are real drainers and just ruin his mood. He will live life the way he wishes to. +Rejection. In his mind, this is something hard to come by for him, but when he does come by it, it hits him hard. Although he may jokingly brush it off, he cannot stand rejection more than anything else. It makes him feel inferior and like he isn't worth anything. +Deep Water. Something no one knows, that he has a phobia for deep water, due to technically drowning in a lake. If that doesn't make you scared of water, who knows what will. +Boring People. Yawn. He can't stand being around these people for long periods of time. He likes laughing and enjoying life, not being drained by life stories or people who need to be hit over the head with the humor stick. Is it that hard to laugh every now and then? +Being Different. Although the perks of his newfound strengths are appealing to him, he doesn't entirely enjoy having this burden and having to hide it from his friends for sake of embarassment. He had it all when he was just another popular young man, it was good enough like that. +Losing. He prides football over most other things, and when he loses, as captain, he feels he let down the team and put them to shame. He wants to prove his team is the best, after all. H I S T O R Y Ayden Wolfe was born in Miami on August 16, 1994, an hour before his twin sister Shoshana. His family were well off compared to others, but by no means 'rich' in the strictest sense. His mother worked as a waitress until she had them, when she decided to stay at home and care for her child while he grew up. His father was a paralegal in one of the local courts in the city. What his father lacked in monetary earnings, he made up for in his excellent organization abilities to budget money effectively, ensuring the family was well maintained. Ayden therefore grew up with many luxuries which he was able to enjoy. However he soon learned the most priceless luxury was one he could never regain. His mother died in what his father had once described as a 'brutal' car accident when Ayden was only six years old. What his father failed to tell him was that he was the one driving the car. For that reason, he hasn't got any vivid memories of his mother; both her appearence and personality. All he had to go on was that of what his father had told him, which really wasn't much as his father hated speaking of his mother because it brought up too many painful memories. Ayden really had nothing to go on in regards to his mother growing up, except the memory of her voice singing him a lullaby one night. It really wasn't much, but it was something. And it was strong. His life changed for the worse after that incident. His father, who was usually social and loving turned slightly bitter and really showed the impact his mother's death had on his father's wellbeing. He would begin drinking, usually excessively causing him to pass out on the couch. Ayden would have nightmares, for at least a month after her death. His father did try his best to comfort the children, but seeing Ayden in this state brought up many painful memories of his own, and he hated it. This is where Ayden did gain much of his independence from, as he didn't have the support he needed from his father at such a young age dealing with this traumatic event. He did have his sister, who was his saving grace, and they grew stronger because of the event. During school, Ayden wasn't the brightest of students, but teachers did recognize that he had a smart mind, he just wasn't using it to its best potential. He lacked the motivation or drive to do well in school, but he did well enough to get decent grades. What he did have, however, were friends, based on his natural charisma which drew people to him. This was a good way of forgetting his home life and his mum's passing, which still affected him. Another thing which blocked out his home life and unleashed some of his anger was doing mui-tai classes on the side every week since he was six. His father thought it would be a good thing for him with all that he had gone through. After enjoying the classes, Ayden took up kick boxing when he was twelve. He needed to keep busy, and over-exerting himself in hobbies was a good way of doing that. He even played football on the school team as well, go figure. In high school, he continued his friendships with the popular students in the school. In many ways he was very vain and 'jerky', but was usually shut down by his sister. Ayden loved his sister more than anything. At school, they had their own set of friends but usually tried to stick together with eachother as well. Although they bickered at points, they never really got sick of eachother. They brought out the best in eachother, which wasn't always a good thing as they did enjoy making their own adventures, no matter how risky they were. The most fondest example of this was when they snuck out and went to the long-abandoned mansion which was said to be haunted and extremely spooky. It was in doing this that his sister accidentally pushed back a plank of wood, hearing a mysterious 'gnarling' noises and the sound of dust falling the ground, before looking around to find nothing. Unbeknowest to them, she had just killed her first vampire. When they were early into their life as a fifteen year old, his sister begun having dreams about mysterious creatures, crosses, pain, blood and chaos. She didn't understand them, but after a while they really got to her. Ayden wasn't concerned, just assuming she was suffering a case of bad dreams, and that trip to the haunted house was coming back to haunt her. However one day when they were out, they were paid a visit by a mysterious woman, who was actually revealed to be a watcher, and was his sister's watcher. She begun training her in the art of combat and slaying a vampire. But it was soon becoming evident that she didn't have the physical attributes of a vampire slayer. Ayden was becoming more aggressive in the kick boxing classes, accidentally giving one of the peers a bloody nose. He decided to quit after that, not wanting another similar episode. The watcher became curous about this and was intent on telling the council. But before this could happen, the watcher was killed by a gang of vampires, in a random assault. They searched her home for any clues, where Ayden found a journal that she had written. He begun reading it, secretly from his sister, where it revealed that there could be consequences for the council finding out about Ayden sharing the destiny. They would likely take him in and experiment on him to try and figure out how it occured, even suspect Ayden was destroying the line just by his mere existance. The two begun to work together more than ever. They went out on nightly patrols to fight vampires without a proper trainer, and continued to accept this destiny they had recieved and liked having to share it with eachother. They were both more compelled to take down vampires since the watcher's death, successfully taking down a vampire nest in a cemetery not far from their residence. However one night they were in for more than they expected, as they were attacked by a powerful vampire who knew how to combat their moves and overpower them with his own. This cost Ayden's sister her life, as he was forced to watch the vampire snap his sister's neck before his eyes. Horrified, he was then beaten by the powerful vampire and drowned in a nearby lake. He had died that night, but luckily for him he was resussitated by a bystander, He also felt a surge pass through his body, and his sister's words. Wake up. His death was a form of 'new life' for Ayden, as he ventured out not long after being released from hospital, and tracking down the vampire and managing to slay him. That was a huge sigh of relief, but he knew it wasn't going to bring back his sister. It was the only thing he could do for her now. After doing so, he took a break from school and everything, mourning the death of his sister in his own way. He didn't tell anyone anything about the incident, he covered up what happened that night, saying that he was training near the lake and accidentally fell in and hit his head on a rock. He did occasionally go out and patrol in the cemetery, but didn't do it ritually, as he was still feeling helpless as a result of losing everyone he loves. He felt like he had to carry on his sister's destiny, even though he just wanted her and his normal life back, which he knew couldn't happen. He begun becoming less vain towards people and wasn't as much as a jerk as he usually was. Though he did use the popularity as a way of hiding his guilt of what happened. He continued pursuing footy, even showing another side by purposely screwing up during football trials in order to allow his friend to take the captain spot of the team. However it wasn't long after a victorious game that he was promoted to the co captain posistion. His father was extremely proud of him, though wasn't very good at showing it. He instead remained caught up in work, and when he wasn't working he was at home working on files or drinking, by which time Ayden got home from partying, his father was in no state to communicate with him. Ayden never expressed much about his past or home life to those at school, only his closest circle of friends were aware of his situation. To everyone on the outside, he just appeared to be a regular guy with a good homelife that everyone wanted to have. But to him, he wanted everyone else's. They had their perfect families, he only had what was left of a family. With everything that happened, his father decided that moving somewhere new for a fresh start would be the best idea, after he got into a fight with a student at school. They moved to Midnight Harbour, where he hopes he can escape everything that had happened. ___________________________________________ Prequel Glancing up at his little sister, a momentary smirk was plastered onto the lips of the young man. She always knew how to cheer him up and make him smile when he was feeling down. Thats what he really admired about her, her natural caring. She cares for everyone, no matter who they are or what they have done. A wrong path for a champion, no doubt. She didn't deserve to be burdened with such fates. He really felt with her, yet she had taken on her destiny with open arms, unlike himself. What was there to like? Having powers was fun, but what they were forced to do with them just wasn't too fun. To slay means to kill. They were killers. Vampires were evil, but that didn't phase out the fact that they were still fighting these creatures of the night in order to achieve a world without evil, which was quite impossible if he said so himself. But Shoshana had never given up. He loved her heart, and her spirit. She always told him that he had a heart like hers also, but he couldn't see it. He didn't have her strength...That courage. He watched as she moved on through the blinding darkness, stake in hand. He hated seeing her with such a item in her possession. In many ways, the gifts he recieved were meant for her...To protect her. But because he had recieved them instead, he knew that it had become his job to protect his little sister and make sure she lives a happy life and is safe from harm and violence. But even he couldn't fight her willingness to their fate...She wanted to make a difference, because she cared too much for people. Being a slayer granted her innate fighting abilities foreign to the average teen girl, but he still worried more than anything for her. Vampires were...Strong, and very deadly. They were gaining power also, strength in numbers. What numbers did they have? Two, although better than one, wasn't enough. He believed in the cause, as she did, however he was worried at how much it had changed their lives...Changed Alexandra. He wanted things to be normal again, he really did. "We aren't going to find any vampires...We have looked around for hours...We can just go home and watch a movie?" She smirked at him, chuckling softly. She wasn't listening to him, she still believed they would come across something. She said this every night they went out in hunt for vampires, only to stumble across one, if any. Slaying one vampire, although mildly satisfying, wasn't making the world a better place. Sure, one less person might eventually survive, but thinking long term, it seemed rather pointless. He wanted to fight on as much as she did...But it was hard, when they didn't know what they were really fighting against, and how powerful the obstacles might be. They were about to find out. Noticing a lake, they pressed on, before being halted by the sound of rustling bushes nearby. They both turned, startled at the sudden movement, which had completely paused since they realized something was following them. Glancing at Shoshana, he pulled the stake out from his pocket, moving foward slightly. He heard a gasp from Shoshana, and he turned, before being floored with a punch from a mysterious man, who he barely had a chance to identify. Regaining his composure just in time to avoid a blow from the powerful man, with this brief moment allowing him to maintain a standing posistion again. Shoshana had already taken initiative however, going for a punch on the man, who blocked it, and threw her to the side. He just managed to avoid another blow from the man, who saw this as amusing, as a smirk developed on his face. This angered him further, throwing a punch towards the man, who had caught his fist, twisting it in such a manner that he felt it snap. It had to be broken. Wincing in pain, he kicked the man in the gut, then begun firmly holding his wrist, trying to get some feeling back into it and compress the pain. It wasn't working. He charged foward, landing another blow, this time to the man's jaw, who had staggered back slightly. He turned to his sister, with focus in his expression. "Run!" He beckoned, but she refused. She had too much courage and pride for that. He wanted to protect his sister, but how could he when she would refuse the chance at survival? She cared too much, for him, and couldn't leave him. Even though they were brought by fate into this together, it didn't seem right. The man showed confidence on his face as he charged towards him again, this time with stake in hand. However the man caught the stake, and threw him into his sister, putting them both to the ground. It was then that he saw more vampires approaching, going directly for Shoshana. No! He couldn't do anything. He was mid-fight with the powerful vampire, and as much as he tried to get an opening, it wasn't working. It wasn't long before he was knocked to the ground and kicked in the gut, tasting blood on his lower lip from another powerful blow from the vampire. The other vampires begun holding him as he watched in horror as the powerful vampire made his way over to his sister, pulling her hair back and taking a bite in her neck. He screamed for her, but it wasn't doing anything. He couldn't break free of their tight hold over him, but once the act was done, they let go, and he bolted towards his dying sister. But it was too late. He heard some last gasps, before she faded away, and then was no more. His sister was dead. |
