"No, the house is great. We found a good one." he smiled looking around as he held the phone to his ear. He really hadn't spoke to his mother since they moved in. He really did try to update his parents on his life at least once a week. Though it'd be about three weeks and this is the first time he spoke to his mother. He walked through the house, entered the kitchen before pulling a couple of grapes off a vine. "It's roomy." he smiled, popping grapes into his mouth humming along with the music playing in the background. Most of it pertained to the neighborhood, school, friends and nothing about Liam and his watching. It was nice..It was normal.
"Liam?" he repeated when his mother asked for him, though he spoke throughout the house than rather into the receiver. He turned to the panel turning on the ceiling speakers to play music throughout the house. "I don't know where that foul git for a brother is..." he smirked as he ascended the stairs before pulling the phone away from his ear. "Sorry, mother." he half smiled and walked throughout the house looking for his brother. "Mom, he's napping." he trailed off as he entered his bedroom. "No, I'm not lying. Do you want me to wake him up?" he furrowed a brow.
Okay, maybe he did lie but he didn't want his mother worrying about Liam not being around much. He was doing fine without him and he was home....sometimes. "You sure you don't want me to wake him?" he leaned against his wall. He light a silent sigh of relief as his mother said that he could leave Liam "asleep". He walked over to the window and spotted Ayden's car parked in front of his house. He furrowed his brows, not really paying attention to his mother. He removed the phone from his ear. No missed calls or texts.
There was no one in the car either or at least he didn't see anyone. He looked down and watched as the boy began to turn and walk back to the car. "Mom...I'm going to have to call you back." he trailed off and tossed his phone on the bed before running downstairs and opening the door to see Ayden walking back to his car. "You sure you don't wanna come in?" he leaned against the doorframe furrowing his brows wondering what landed the boy at his door.

He was bored. Another day of school, getting told off from the principal, and it wasn't even close to midnight yet, so it wasn't like he was able to go about fighting vampires for the remainder of the night, hoping that the action would tempt him to go to sleep or something. You know, considering that he had to be up early for school. Although slayers had higher stamina, there was still such a thing as sleepiness in the morning and looking like a drunk homeless person because of the bags under his eyes. His father was out working, and his brother was probably out studying with university classmates. So he was stuck here, in the new house, alone. Screw this, he thought, he was going to make the most of it.
He didn't know what the norm was for Midnight Harbour residents when visiting homes, but he just decided to go for a cruise and hope for the best. Arriving at Holden's house, he parked on the sidewalk, hoping that someone was actually home and he wasn't looking like an idiot. He walked up to the doorstep, going to knock on the door, then pauisng with a sigh. This was how they did it in Miami, just go over to friends houses, unannonced, but he was worried he was going to seem like some bored idiot appearing at the house like this. He begun to walk back towards the car, deciding to just go get something to eat, instead, even though he wasn't hungry. But he heard the door open, and he turned as he heard Holden's voice. Guess there was no escaping now.
He looked on curiously, before speaking. "Didn't think anyone was home, so was just going to boot. If you'll have me. Sorry to rock up unanounced, just extremely bored, and you usually visit friends when you're bored, right? Besides, my brother wasn't home, so needed someone to tease for the rest of the day." He smirked, walking foward again towards Holden. He was now near the doorstep which Holden was leaning on. He put his hands in his pockets, looking on. "Feel like putting up with me, huh?" He questioned, hopefully more as a rhetorical question than anything.

He watched as the boy walked back to him and just listened to him go on. "I...wouldn't know." he smiled back at the kid. He really didn't have many friends to just "drop by" on. It was a first. Though he didn't mind the company, it did beat being home alone. Although the house wasn't huge, it as big enough. Did get creepy sometimes. He listened to Ayden go on before moving out of the boys way. It wasn't something he had to think about or even hesitate to think about. He just simply moved out of his way and closed the door behind him.
"Well, I am home. I was just talking to my mom." he nodded as he smiled. "And listening to music..." he pointed to speakers above in every room of the house. He really didn't have a clue of what to talk about. He really hadn't had any idea of how to entertain or had anything planned for the night. He hoped this didn't turn out too badly.
He turned towards Ayden and smiled, "Do you want anything? Something to drink? Eat? Tour?" he really hoped that Ayden would make this easy for him. He walked to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water and sat on the counter top. His mom hated it when he did it but it was Liam's house and well, Liam didn't really care. What mom didn't know wouldn't hurt her.

He smiled as Holden let him into the house and then turned as he closed the door, before looking around the house. It wasn't over big, but it was cosy, it seemed. It was sort of like his house, except at the moment there were still heaps of boxes around the house, making it look like some kind of dump. He turned back to Holden, the smile still on his face. "Nice place you got here man...Just you and your brother?" He asked curiously, he had a fair idea judging from what Holden spoke about last time they hung out, but he just wanted to make conversation and get his facts right, anyway. There was nothing worse than a friend who had no idea about the little details, and he didn't want to be that kind of a friend.
He nodded, feigning a smile as Holden mentioned speaking to his mum. Even though he was only a child when his mum died, it was still something he was dealing with, being 'mother-less' and all. He would like to know what its like to call his mum on the phone, see her smile, or just outright hang out with her. And it didn't help that his father didn't exactly provide all of the details about his mother, either. Levi had a better memory of those things, but even he couldn't provide an in-depth summary. And besides, there was nothing like talking face-to-face, not hearing information second hand.
Holden asked if he wanted anything, and he walked closer towards him, still looking around at the place, every little thing seemingly interesting him. He then finally turned towards Holden. "Uh, yeah sure, whatever you got, I'm not fussed." He leaned against the wall, looking over at Holden. He could tell he really was new at this friends coming over unexpectedly thing. Maybe it was a bad idea, but then again, it would be good for the two of them to catch up and get to know eachother better. "Tour sounds good," he added with a smile, trying not to make this anymore awkward for the kid than it already was.

Holden looked down at the bottle of water in his hands and tossed it over before hopping off the counter and walking over to Ayden. He took a deep breath and turned back around. "Just me and my brother. Well, obviously this is the kitchen" he nodded before smiling at the boy. He motioned for Ayden to follow as he showed him the living room, the bathrooms, the office, the movie/game room lounge in the basement. More for Liam's entertainment than his. Totally skipping over the sub-basement for multiple reasons. He dragged the boy upstairs to Liam's bedroom, the guest bedroom, and finally his.
Starting to panic he hoped he didn't come off as a slob, his room wasn't messy at all. He just hoped Ayden didn't think it was. He sat down on the queen size bed. "Well, that's it. I guess. I believe I got everything." he nodded as he grabbed the phone he tossed on the bed earlier and slid it in his pocket. The sun was setting. He couldn't leave and go patrolling with Ayden here. That'd be rude and unexplainable. "I just noticed something. You don't talk about yourself a lot. I mean you know a good bit about me and I know nothing about you. Friendships don't work that way, do they?" he furrowed his brows not meaning to pry but he would want to know if he had a homicidal maniac in his bedroom. [/blockquote]

He caught the water bottle, and followed Holden as he begun to give him a tour of the place. They went through all the rooms, he had to admit it was a nice place to be living in. He watched as Holden sat down on his head, and he leant against the door frame, looking on. Holden soon asked him a question which did catch him off guard. He shrugged softly, forcing a smile. "I wouldn't say I know that much about you. And theres not much to know really about me, nothing exciting I mean." He couldn't exactly explain to him that he was a slayer and that he fought vampires on a regular basis and actually enjoyed it. How was he supposed to explain something like that? Although he disliked the idea of lying, he didn't want to lose all of his friends because they thought of him as some kind of freak.
"But since we're friends and all now..." He sighed softly, contemplating what he was about to say inside his head, before finally saying it. "I live with my brother and father, my mother died when I was only a child, so don't know much about her. I had a twin sister, but she died a year ago...Yeah...Thats about all I can think of about myself, really. He looked on at Holden, smiling softly. Although it was difficult to talk about, it did feel good being able to talk to someone about it, as he hadn't really spoken to anyone about it really, as nobody except his closest friends back in Miami knew really.
He brushed it off, moving off of the door frame and moving towards the bed and nudging Holden. "So...You said something about music?" He stated, chuckling softly. Maybe he really did have a close friend in Holden after all. He would just have to see how everything goes, but things were looking positive for a change.

Holden felt horrible for even asking, he knew how hard it was talking about stuff like that. He wasn't in the same boat but he did lose someone. Actually it felt worse, he lost someone he never got the chance to meet. All he got was pictures and stories but it never made up for the void in his life. He was grateful he got adopted by his family but couldn't help but wonder what if. He shifted in the bed after Ayden nudged him as he just stared across the room, not able to look at him.
"I'm sorry." he said licking his lips as his throat began to dry, he cleared his throat. The boy tried changing the subject but it was as if it went one ear and out the other. "I'm sorry..." he trailed off not realizing he was repeating himself. "My mom died giving birth to me." he said finally turning to look at Ayden. He wasn't really sure when Ayden made his way over to him but he honestly didn't care. Holden looked down at the floor again before looking Ayden in the eyes and hugging him. Without a thought he just embraced Ayden in a hug. Holden quickly let go as quickly as he wrapped his arms around him. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to...attack you. I don't know what came over me." he got up the bed embarrassed and sat in a nearby chair. He couldn't believe he just did that. Way to make things awkward he thought to himself.
"Yeah, about that music." he nodded and forced a smile before grabbing his cellphone and opening an app to change the music playing throughout the app. He looked up at Ayden after playing around with the phone in his hand, "Now what?" he popped a brow at him. [/blockquote]

Holden kept saying sorry, but there was no reason for him to do so. It wasn't like he knew or anything, Ayden was the one who decided to open up to someone for a change who he saw as potential for a close friend. He hated having secrets, and outside of the slaying thing, he didn't want to keep anything from anybody anymore. Friendship goes both ways, and just because he is having a rough patch, doesn't mean that bottling it up for ages is the answer. He looked up at Holden sympathetically as he spoke of his mother. So they had that in common, losing their mothers. He frowned softly. "I guess we both know how it feels so lose our mothers. I can't even remember anything about her, only what I've been told. Theres nothing worse than being told about someone rather than actually remembering them." He sighed softly, as this was probably how Holden was feeling also. Wow, bonding over dead mothers, who would've thought.
Caught off guard, Holden embraced him with a hug. He stood there, putting one of his hands behind Holden's back, before Holden shyly moved away, obviously embarrassed by hugging him or something. It wasn't exactly something he had expected from Holden, but hugging was normal. People were usually just too embarrassed to go through with them. He was used to hugging over guys, after football matches or just going out and having fun with them. It wasn't an unnatural thing or anything, but Holden seemed to be worried Ayden would take it as unnatural. He smirked softly. "Its okay, I get it. You can't get your hands off of me. I kid." Holde nnervously changed the subject by putting on the music and he continued to smirk. He asked now what they should do. He shrugged. "I donno, this is your party. We can toss a football, hit the town and get smashed, egg cars or watch 90's porn flicks. Kidding about the last one, maybe."

holden rolled his eyes at ayden mentioning that he couldn't keep his hands off of him. "please, if i wanted my hands on you, they'd be there. i mean, you can't keep your body off of my hands." he smirked as he stared at the phone in hand, though rather shocked at what he just said. he tossed his phone to the side and gave ayden his undivided attention when he started suggesting things to do. some of them were just unusual and the others, juvenile.
he didn't furrow a brow or anything as the boy listed, he just stared at him with a blank expression on his face. "this is what you did back home?" he questioned. "get drunk, egg cars and watch vintage porn?" he smirked. he got up from the chair and grabbed his hoodie before leaving the room. "well, aren't you coming?" he spat out turning red, "no pun intended" he quickly added before walking down the stairs. "liam hides his booze around here somewhere. he won't mind." he shook his head unsure of that but as long as they drink it indoors, they should be fine.
holden did a quick sweep of the cabinets before walking downstairs to the basement. the boy searched the dark room not even sure if holden was behind him. part of him hoped he wasn't. didn't want him questioning what was behind the door that led to the sub basement. "watch out for the wire. don't trip, i will laugh" he smirked as he stepped over it. his liquor cabinet had to be all the way on the opposite end of the room? it also didn't help they were searching in the dark.

He raised an eyebrow at Holden's comment, which really didn't make much sense, causing him to smirk softly. "Do you even think about what you are going to say before you say it?" He chuckled, asking this more as a rhetorical question than anything. There had been a number of occasions the boy had just blurted out things and seemed to wonder why he said them in the first place. Perhaps it was nerves of being new to this whole friends thing, or perhaps he was just one of those people who blurted out things without thinking. If anything, they were entertaining.
He shrugged at Holden's question. "Basically. except maybe the egging cars part." So he was left with getting wasted and watching porn; wow, he should have just denied them all they all sounded as bad as eachother. He brushed off another one of Holden's 'not thinking before he speaks' things, and followed him downstairs to get some booze. Hey, this kid wasn't too bad after all. But then he mentioned Liam, and he paused in step, curious. "Liam? I only ask this because small town and all, but this 'Liam' wouldn't happen to be the guidance counsellor at the school would he?" He looked on curiously. It would make sense, it really would. Though would make things weird, the brother being a guidance counsellor and all that.

"I do think. Maybe what I say is actually how I feel before I have the chance to alter my thoughts and feelings?" he turned to smirk at Ayden. Maybe some things he said without thinking but it was all his thoughts uncensored. He listened and continued walking across the room as he heard Ayden confirm his viewing of porn and getting wasted with friends. He chuckled and looked at him again, "So, who needs to think before they speak again?" he teased. "I mean now I know what you do with your spare time." he joked. "I'm kidding." he added on.
Holden wrapped his hand around a bottle of vodka and pulled it out the cabinet as Ayden asked about Liam. He knew it was bound to come up sooner or later, though he just wished it were later. He turned back to face Ayden and nodded. "You mean the funny looking one with the weird accent?" he winced and then smile. "Yeah, that's him. It's also the reason why I didn't want to go to the nurse that day." he nodded. He walked over to Ayden and handed him the bottle. "And I bet you're probably wondering why I don't have an accent?" he spat out in an english accent.
"Well, I don't. Not a natural one anyways." he shrugged talking regularly. He started walking past Ayden leading the way out of the basement. "Just so you know, Liam is cool. You don't actually have to worry about him. He kind of hates his job, it's just something to.." he stopped himself abruptly, trying to keep the real reason why he was a guidance counselor a secret. "Something to pay the bills and put food in our mouths." he added on quickly. Though he was putting food in their mouths but lately it's been Ana, thank god. "So, as long as you don't make it weird, he won't make it weird. I promise. I actually didn't want to tell you for the simple fact that you might run the other way." he shrugged.
"Watch out for that wire again" he pointed nearly tripping over it himself but catching himself just in time.

He shrugged at Holden's comment, not entirely sure how to take it or what Holden was trying to get at. "That usually happens when I've been drinking too much," he added softly, a soft smirk emerging on his features as he looked on at Holden, before his glance shifted to around the room. Yeah, he didn't drink too much. It was just a joke, like a lot of things that usually came out of his mouth. If he was drinking, his father or brother for that matter would likely kill him. Though in the situation he was in, drinking would appear to be the only thing which would get a normal adult by. But what did he do to fix his problems? Just go and lunge straight back into slaying to get his focus back. How helpful that was, he wasn't entirely sure, but it beats just sitting around at home. He eyed Holden at his tease, the smirk reemerging on his expression. "Just sounds like your jealous you never watched any. Kidding." If this boy really knew what he did in his spare time, he would probably be amazed. And not in a "that is so cool!" kind of way, either. It made friendships so difficult for him, being unable to communicate these things to anyone else with fear of rejection or how they might react. And he hated rejection, which made things inevitable worse.
And it really was a small town, as Holden confirmed that the Liam he was thinking of was actually Holden's brother. "And here I was, sitting in that office and giving him hell. You're either going to hi-five me, or punch me in the face. Not really sure." He chuckled softly as Holden went on. He shot a confused smirk towards Holden. "Run the other way? I've dealt with a lot worse than a guidance counsellor over the years, s'all good man." And once again, if only Holden knew what he had dealt with. Annoying British waters, blood thirsty vampires, power-hungry principals...Oh and the list went on. As he moved in following Holden, he moved around the wires, looking back towards Holden. "I've been in some pretty bad places, but all of this just to get some alcohol? Did your brother just intentionally make this place an electrian's nightmare just to ensure you didn't run down here and get a glass?" It was a pretty smart tactic, but they were here now, so obviously not working.

"Remind me not to let you get too drunk then." he smiled as he walked out of the basement and walked back up the stairs to the main level of the house. He hoped Ayden was just messing around, he figured he was, otherwise he would have to really make sure the boy didn't drink too much. He led them back to the kitchen and grabbed a couple of cups and placed the on the counter.
"I'm not jealous." he smirked as he sat upon the counter. "Besides, you don't know if that's true or not. I could be some russian spy or something and you wouldn't know." he winked at the boy and turned on some music. "I guess I could high five you or bow down to you. At least he can't hit you." he shrugged as he thought of the times he's caused Liam trouble. "Nah, he made sure that no one finds our good stuff." he chuckled. He glanced down at the empty cups on the counter and back to the bottle in Ayden's hand. "Are we going to drink or what?" he furrowed his brow at him before grabbing a bunch of snacks out of a nearby cabinet.

Liam wouldn’t normally be the one to stay this late after school. Even when he was younger, yes he was smart and got exceptional grades, but when school was over, it was over. Staying after for clubs or even to do his homework was unheard of. There was way too much fun to be had with Ana instead of being an overachiever. Here in Midnight Harbour? That was a different story. He had still not been able to find his slayer, and even with his efforts in bribing Holden to find her for him, he was still unsuccessful. So, tonight, after he was sure the school was desolate, he snuck into the principal’s office and hacked into his computer copying all the student records onto a USB drive which he then spent hours going through back in his own office to try and find his slayer. It had paid off. He was able to narrow it down to about six girls whom he would call for all of them to come to his office tomorrow and speak with them individually. And when he found her, boy did he have a bone to pick with her. She was aware of her abilities. He knew that for certain. His father had been friends with her previous watcher, a man who actually died risking his life for her. So she should have known that this was coming. She should have known someone would be looking for her to help her continue fulfilling her destiny. Clearly she didn’t want to be found, and boy was she doing a good job of that.
Liam slipped his key into the lock of his house and walked in leaving it unlocked behind him. He knew Holden was home, or should be home at this hour. He wasn’t sure about Ana though. Maybe she was out gallivanting around the streets of Midnight Harbour again. If she was doing that, he hoped she wouldn’t come home like she had the other day. He recalled the incident from the other night. Yeah, that didn’t go so well.
Liam could hear Holden’s voice in the kitchen. Talking to himself again? What a nerd muffin. Liam’s eyes were fixated on the keys in his hand. He had thought he put the USB drive back on his keychain, but he must have left it in his pack. ”Hey ho ho! I think I found her finally!” It was a new nickname he had for his brother, and he was pretty sure he wouldn’t like it, but it was simple and much more humorous than his actual name. He walked into the kitchen with a smirk on his face rather proud of himself for actually breaking into the stupid ass hole principal’s office by himself to find his damn slayer. He was not at all expecting to see the sarcastic boy he had counseled recently standing in his kitchen with a bottle of Liam’s good liquor in his hand. His smirk immediately went away. His eyes stayed on Ayden’s for a few moments before moving to Holden. ”Sure you can invite people over without me knowing and drink my favorite alcoholic beverage with them. That is no problem at all.” Liam said sarcastically eyeing his brother.

He chuckled at Holden's comment. "I didn't just risk my life coming down here and overcoming all of these obstacles to go back up empty handed. Of course we are going to drink!" He retained the smirk on his expression as he looked on at Holden, ready for some fun. It was a good decision coming here, he thought. You don't really become a friend until you've been over at that friends house and drank ahlf their alcohol stock. So, maybe they weren't going to get that far, but they were still drinking alcohol and any counts really. Holden seemed like a really cool and chilled guy, he couldn't understand why the boy wasn't popular or at least had found a few friends other than him. Ayden could've imagined himself hanging out with someone like Holden, though apparently others didn't have quite that imagination.
They were about to have some fun with alcohol, snacks and music, when this so called brother walked in and caught the two of them in the act. So slaying, he was good at. Being all secretive and stuff, he wasn't so good at. He eyed the man awkwardly, looking down to the ground softly, realizing how much the environment in this room had changed. Maybe this brother would be the cool one who said 'yeah lets all drink and party!' but he was likely the opposite, judging from the looks he was giving. He turned to Holden softly, trying to break the tension. "Gotta love when plans turn sour." He commented softly, sighing. He looked back over at Liam. "To be fair, you haven't really drank too much out of the bottle in the first place, so I was helping you out there. But good choice in liquor." So, probably wasn't the best thing to say in the situation, but it was all he had and when he was nervous he usually just threw things out of his mouth not really thinking. Hey, who was he kidding he didn't need to be nervous to say things without thinking.
